Karla Gough

Associate Professor Karla Gough

Karla is a quantitative psychologist and senior research fellow who provides methodological and statistical input to multiple groups within the Peter Mac and VCCC partner health services.

Her main areas of interest at the moment are care pathways across the continuum of cancer care; and quality measurement and reporting systems, including the capture and integration of patient-reported data.

Karla has been involved in all stages of the research process including the preparation of grant applications, study protocols, ethics proposals and all forms of dissemination. She is a co-investigator on over $1.3M worth of collaborative grants awarded since 2015. Currently she is working on over 30 separate projects; most involve interdisciplinary collaborations with nurses, doctors, allied health professionals and, most importantly, consumer and carer advocates.

Her passion is building psychometric and statistical literacy, and challenging the status quo using evidence and argument.
